Laís Naoko Higashi: Lighting Up Brazil’s Vulnerable Communities
Laís: Did you know that one billion people live without electricity in the world, and in Brazil, there are two million people in this situation? Working in all five regions of the country, Litro de Luz Brasil brings solar lighting to communities that don’t have adequate access to energy. We provide solar street lights, solar hand lights, and solar internal lights, composed of simple materials such as plastic bottles and PVC pipes. We also provide solar panels, batteries, and LEDs. We also teach the residents how to build and maintain the technology. Our mission is to improve people's quality of life through sustainable lighting solutions and empower transformation agents.

Parveen Begum: Leading the Way to Electromobility

Parveen: At Solisco, we are trying to give people energy freedom by demonstrating new ways of powering things that are usually responsible for carbon emissions. Such as the cars we drive. Our mission is to transform ordinary spaces into innovative energy hubs, by implementing solar carports, smart chargers, and battery storage to support electric vehicle uptake. Unless this sustainable infrastructure exists, our shift to electro-mobility will not be as green and innovative as it can be. The heartbeat of our company has always been to educate others about the benefits of EVs and clean technology and provide thought leadership on what the future of electrification could look like; clean and affordable for everyone.

Reyhan Jamalova: Turning Rain into Power for Rural Communities

Reyhan: Rainergy is a project that aims to solve the energy deficiency problem in rural parts of rainy countries with generators that produce electricity from rainwater. Millions of children in these communities lack access to electricity, technology, and, therefore, a quality education. At Rainergy, we’re set on our mission of giving children light — a hope for a brighter future by “Lighting up One House at a Time.” Our next goal is to reduce the amount of carbon dioxide in the air.
